Commentary: Paying Not To Be First

In his blog post, Paying Not To Be First, Jonathan Fields discusses why paying more for a service is better.

He makes a fair point: you’re paying more for a service because you are paying for the individual’s experience.

Reading this reminds me of a few things I should share about web designers and other freelancers. Remember, I base this on working in the field for 10 years; I’ve seen my colleagues do a lot of interesting things.

In his post, Jonathan has the “you get what you pay for” mentality. Bear in mind that this is often true. However, it can be equally false.

Web Hosting Has Arrived!

Happy 2009! Here with are with a new year, so I am finally releasing some new services.

After all these years, I finally took the plunge and added web hosting as a service at GeekArtist Web Solutions. This is a service clients, in general, would like to have. Especially since my job often involves contacting their web host with questions, needing access to their host, and so on. This will make that process go much more smoothly since I’ll be handling the hosting.

New and existing GeekArtist Web Solutions clients do NOT have to host here to use GeekArtist for web design, SEO, and other services. This is just a service provided to make life easier for those that would like the option. (more…)
